The Costa Rica Tourism Board just confirmed they are no longer extending the visas. The rules now goes back to the pre pandemic rules, where tourists need to stamp out of the country every 90 days. The penalty to not stamping out will result in being banned from the country for three times as long as you overstayed.
This causes a lot of problems since Panama is not allowing people to stamp into Panama at the land border. Flying to Panama or another country might be the only solution to this problem.
